History

The business of Solent Plastics was founded as Stanley Butcher and Sons Ltd in 1928, by the late Frederick Stanley Butcher. Initially working as a manufacturers agent mainly supplying the baking industry he was joined in 1967 by Christopher one of his twin sons to develop the increasing factory supply side of the business with the emphasis on hardware and janitorial products. His other son David joined the company and due to the increasing sales of storage containers in 1979 Solent Plastics was registered .

Larger premises were purchased to cope with the increasing stock requirements, a showroom added for trade customers and various distributorships secured. A van delivery service commenced for the Southern area and after several relocations the existing site in Millbrook was purchased.

The third generation involvement started with Davids son James being appointed in 2006 as Business Development Manager concentrating on the changing sales methods and Christophers son Ben joining in 2013 to develop new technology and developments. The current team are dedicated to provide the established service methods of the company with new products being continually sourced.

Our current customer base is both National and International comprising a vast array of customers and their requirements being looked after by people with knowledge and experience.
